Roseville Smog Center performs vehicle smog tests that are required every two years. We will provide an honest assessment of the situation with a three-part test consisting of a visual inspection, a functional examination and an emissions evaluation.
New Requirement
California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) introduces smog requirements for Hybrid Vehicles! All six years and older hybrid vehicles, with registration date July 1, 2015 or later are now required to get a smog test every two years. All our facilities are equipped with the latest equipment to perform smog tests for hybrids.

Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) – The governing body that regulates the automotive repair industry and administers the smog check program.
Smog Check Program – Designed to reduce the air pollution by motor vehicles.
Smog Centers OR Smog Stations OR Smog Shops – Businesses authorized to test emissions of vehicles.
STAR Program – Designed to ensure certain performance standards among smog centers.
STAR Stations – Smog centers that meet the guidelines of the STAR program and are certified by the BAR to smog STAR required vehicles.
EVAP Test – 1995 and older vehicles require a test in addition to the regular smog test; called the EVAP test. The EVAP test checks whether there are any leaks in the hose between the Gas Tank and the Charcoal Canister.
Smog Technician – The technician that performs a smog test. All smog technicians are required to have proper licensing from the BAR.
